Day 1 - Speaking : 기술적으로 일어날 수 없는 일이 일어났어요.

오늘 업무 중에 기술적으로 일어날 수 없다고 생각되는 일이 일어났습니다.

우리 쪽에서 과실이 있는 것이 아님을 설명해야 하는 상황이었지요.

당시에 제가 사용했던 문장은 

This wasn't able to happen technically. 

(한글 직역 : 이건 일어날 수 없는 일이야 기술적으로)
**happen 은 목적어를 가질 수 없는 자동사이기 때문에 수동태로 쓸 수 없습니다. 

최근에 김영철-타일러가 진행하는 라디오에 관한 기사를 읽었는데 미국인들은 영어를 아주 간결하게 사용한다고 해서 조금 영향을 받지 않았나 싶기도 합니다.  

구글에 검색해봤을 때 비슷한 문장이 사용된 검색결과가 많지 않은 걸로 봐서는 좀 더 좋은 표현이 있을 것 같습니다.

그리고 조금 더 생각해봤을 때 떠오른 문장은 

Technically. it was not supposed to happen. 

(한글 직역 : 기술적으로 이건 일어나지 않는 게 맞아. 제가 Be supposed to 를 즐겨 사용하는데 대충 쓸만한 상황이다 싶으면 좀 막 쓰고 있어서 올바른 사용 방식인지 한 번 점검이 필요할 것 같아서 한 번 검색해보았습니다. 아래에 첨부) 

구글에 검색해보면 꽤 많이 사용이 되고 있네요.

그리고 Papago 에도 한 번 돌려봤습니다.

Something technically impossible has happened.

오랜만에 이렇게 정리하면서 공부하니 너무 재밌네요. 저는 이 표현을 주로 3,4,5 번의 의미로 많이 사용을 해왔는데, 앞으로 1번이나 6번 같은 경우에도 사용을 해보려고 합니다. 

제 개인적으로 1~6번의 느낌을 종합하여 표현하자면, Be supposed to V  는 '~하는 게 맞다' 의 늬앙스로 조금씩 다른 의미를 강조하여 쓸 수 있을 것 같습니다!
